BerriBot vs Talview (2026): AI interviews, proctoring, integrations
Sep 15, 2026
BerriBot vs Talview: an honest comparison for 2026
Talview and BerriBot get shortlisted together a lot, usually by a talent team that has decided AI should run first round interviews and now has to pick a vendor. The two products look similar on a feature grid and are built for fairly different jobs underneath.
Short version: Talview is a trust and integrity platform that grew out of exam proctoring and now sells AI interviewing alongside it. BerriBot is an AI interviewing platform where the fraud checks are part of the interview product rather than a separate module. If you also deliver certification exams, Talview covers ground we don't. If your problem is first round technical interviews at volume and people showing up who aren't who they say they are, that's the case we're built for.
We publish this page knowing Talview publishes one about us. Theirs makes claims about BerriBot with no source attached. Ours cites where every Talview claim came from, so you can check it.

Everything in the Talview column comes from Talview's own pages, linked at the bottom. Where they don't publish something, we've said so instead of guessing.
Where Talview is genuinely stronger
This part matters more than the rest of the page, so it goes first.
Exams. Talview runs a real proctoring operation, not a feature. Automated proctoring, record and review, live human proctors, in centre proctoring, a lockdown browser, a secondary camera feed, an integrity score produced within 24 hours, and a proctoring API. Their customer list in this market is checkable and hard to argue with: Cambridge Assessment, ETS, City and Guilds, GMAT, Kaplan. If your organisation delivers certification exams as well as hiring, that is one vendor instead of two, and we do not compete there at all.
Integrations. Talview publishes 16 named ATS integrations, including Workday, SuccessFactors, Greenhouse, Taleo, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, PeopleStrong, Avature and Beamery. They also list a long set of LMS platforms including Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, D2L and Open edX. We don't publish a named integration list, and a buyer who needs a specific pre built connector on day one should weigh that honestly.
Assessment breadth. 2,000 assessments across 500 job skills, 80 plus programming languages, a live pair programming tool, cognitive and psychometric batteries, and an English proficiency test. That's a wider testing footprint than most AI interview products, ours included.
Track record and support. 118 G2 reviews at 4.4, and the thing reviewers praise most consistently is the support team. On Capterra their customer service score (4.5) is higher than their ease of use score (4.1), which tells you something real about how they run accounts.
If any of those four things is your actual buying criterion, buy Talview. We'd rather you did than end up unhappy with us.
Where we think BerriBot fits better
The fraud checks are built around the interview, not bolted beside it. Most platforms verify identity at the door and then watch a recording afterwards. Our starting point was that hiring decisions get made in the live interview, so that's where the checking belongs. Berri Proctor detects micro-signals through 3D liveness detection and lip sync analysis. The clearest published example of how a flag behaves is smart glasses: the system flags it immediately, the candidate gets a warning, and the interviewer is notified. Nobody finds out three days later from a line in a report.
We move quickly on new fraud methods. In January 2026 our COO wrote about taking the publicly available Meta Ray-Ban models, training our vision systems on them and updating the detection layer. If a candidate joins wearing smart glasses, it flags, the candidate is warned, the interviewer is told. He was blunt about the limit in the same post: no detection system is 100 percent foolproof, and anyone claiming otherwise is lying. We'd say the same about every number on this page, ours included.
Interview questions come off the candidate's own resume. Candidates who've been through it describe the flow the same way: intro, then technical questions pulled from the specific projects on their resume, then role specific questions, then coding in an integrated environment. One public write up describes being asked to explain a project, what extra technologies were used in it, and what challenges came up. That's a different exercise from a fixed question bank, and it's harder to prepare canned answers for.
Candidate contact is part of the same system. Berri Connect handles the calls, WhatsApp, SMS and scheduling before the interview happens. For a role where 400 people apply and most never answer a phone call, the drop off usually happens before anyone gets assessed at all.
What Talview's page about us says, and what we'd correct
Their comparison page describes BerriBot as "structured, bot-style Q&A" with "limited identity checks" and "basic monitoring."
We'd point at three things rather than argue.
The identity claim is the one we'd contest hardest. Berri Proctor detects micro-signals through 3D liveness detection and lip sync analysis, which we wrote up with dates in our own engineering posts in January 2026. Fair criticism of us while we're here: that detail sits on our newsletter rather than on our product pages, which is our fault and something we're fixing. Talview's Candidate Verification page, for its part, doesn't name deepfake detection or AI assistant misuse detection anywhere, although their comparison page claims "AI Misuse Controls" as a category they win. That one is checkable in about two minutes.
The numbers on that page don't match their own product page. The comparison page promises 3x more interview capacity. Their Ivy product page says 10x. Same site, same day.
And the page carries a section heading that reads "3 Reasons Talview is the Best HireVue Alternative." It's a template they run across a long list of competitors, with the headline statistics swapped per page: 80 percent and 3x and $250K for us, 70 percent and 67 percent and 40 percent for HireVue. We're not offended by the page existing. We publish one too. It's just worth knowing what you're reading.
The gaps we'd want you to ask us about
We'd rather you heard these from us.
We don't publish a compliance certification list. No SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR or DPDP badge appears on our site today. If your security review needs documentation, ask us directly and we'll send what we have rather than point at a badge.
We don't publish a named ATS integration list either. Talview does and it's a fair advantage for them on a procurement checklist.
We have no G2 reviews yet. Talview has 118. A buyer who wants a hundred strangers to have gone first has a reasonable point, and we can't answer it with anything except references.
Neither of us publishes pricing, so anyone who tells you what we cost is guessing.
How to choose
Pick Talview if you deliver exams or certifications alongside hiring, if you need a specific named ATS or LMS connector working on day one, if your assessment strategy depends on a large library of ready made tests, or if a long public review history is part of how you buy.
Pick BerriBot if first round technical interviews at volume are the bottleneck, if proxy candidates and interview fraud are the thing keeping you up, if you want the integrity checks happening live rather than in a post hoc review, and if you want candidate outreach, screening and interviewing to sit in one system.
Run both in a pilot if you can. Give each the same 50 candidates for the same role and compare what came back. That settles more than either of these pages will.
FAQ
Is BerriBot a Talview alternative?
For AI interviewing and live interview integrity, yes. For exam proctoring and certification delivery, no. Talview's proctoring business covers high stakes exams for awarding bodies like Cambridge Assessment and ETS, and BerriBot doesn't operate in that market.
Does Talview detect deepfakes?
Talview's Candidate Verification page describes face matching, voice verification, multi face and no face detection, device and connection monitoring, and ID checks against third party and AML databases. As of September 2026 it does not name deepfake detection specifically. Their comparison pages claim "AI misuse controls" as a category, without detailing what that means.
What does Talview cost?
Talview doesn't publish prices. Their pricing page describes a unit based model where you pay per feature used, and states a minimum commitment of roughly 150 to 200 candidates. Everything past that comes from a quote.
Which one is better for hiring in India?
Depends on what you need. Talview has an established India presence and a long enterprise customer list including TCS and Cognizant. BerriBot's engineering team is in Coimbatore and our interview product is built around high volume technical hiring, which is the shape of most Indian IT services and GCC recruitment. Neither of us publishes a DPDP Act compliance statement, so ask both of us about data residency directly.
Does BerriBot do assessments and coding tests?
Interviews include coding questions in an integrated environment, and candidates are scored against technical and behavioural benchmarks. We don't run a standalone assessment library the size of Talview's 2,000 test catalogue, and if a large pre built test library is what you're buying, that's theirs.
Can I see both before deciding?
Yes, and you should. Both companies sell by demo. Ask each of us the same three questions: what happens the moment a fraud signal fires, which of your ATS systems has a working connector today, and what does the recruiter actually see when the interview ends.
