For hiring teams
How BerriBot works for recruiters, talent leaders and admins, from the first job description to a new hire's first day.
About BerriBot
What is BerriBot?
BerriBot is an agentic AI recruiting platform that sources, screens, interviews and verifies candidates end to end, with built-in fraud detection that catches proxy candidates and deepfakes.
It works as a connected suite. Berri Search & Match shortlists candidates against your job descriptions, Berri Connect reaches out by voice call, WhatsApp and email, Berri MasterMind runs the AI first-round interview, Berri Proctor adds identity and integrity checks to remote interviews, and Berri 360 brings these into one pipeline from shortlist to joining day. Berri Tutor and Berri Talent cover upskilling and certification.
Who is BerriBot built for?
BerriBot is built for enterprise technology and staffing organisations, and for the recruiters, talent acquisition leaders and HR admins who run high-volume or recurring hiring. Interview panellists and candidates get their own simple pages, opened from a secure link with no password to remember.
What hiring problems does BerriBot solve?
BerriBot takes on the repetitive work that slows hiring down: ranking CVs against a job description, checking candidate interest by call, WhatsApp and email, running consistent first-round interviews, scheduling panel rounds, generating offers and tracking the joining checklist. It also helps confirm that the person on screen is the real candidate. Your recruiters and hiring managers step in for the decisions that matter.
What results can companies expect?
BerriBot's published results include a 50% reduction in time-to-hire, 78% savings in recruiter and panel hours, a 2x improvement in candidate show-up rates and a 4.7/5 candidate satisfaction score.
Your results will depend on your hiring volume, the roles you hire for and which stages you automate. Book a demo to see what this could look like for your own hiring.
Can BerriBot handle high-volume hiring?
Yes. BerriBot is built for high-volume and recurring hiring. You can upload many job descriptions and candidate files at once, run different hiring flows for different groups of candidates on the same role at the same time, and let Berri move candidates between stages automatically.
Online Proctor supports virtual walk-in and bulk hiring, and Berri Proctor Post Interview Analysis processes recordings in the background, with most videos finishing in under an hour.
Is BerriBot fair? How does it reduce bias?
Every candidate is scored against one written rubric per role, so everyone is assessed on the same criteria. BerriBot does not infer emotion, personality or mood from a candidate's face or voice. Bias is addressed through re-weighting, adversarial debiasing and fairness-aware training, and a human reviews before any adverse decision.
A bias audit summary is available on request.
How does BerriBot prevent interview fraud?
BerriBot checks that the person interviewing is who they say they are. Depending on the product, checks include digital ID validation, face match, voice match, lip-sync verification, liveness checks, tab-change monitoring and deepfake face and voice indicators.
Live panel rounds on Online Proctor are recorded and integrity-checked. Interviews run on other tools such as Zoom, Teams or Meet can be analysed afterwards with Berri Proctor Post Interview Analysis, where a BerriBot analyst reviews the result. Reports show the outcome of each check along with supporting evidence such as snapshots and flagged moments.
Is BerriBot secure and compliant?
BerriBot holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications and supports GDPR and CCPA/CPRA requirements. Compliance work for India's DPDP Act is in progress.
Data is encrypted at rest and in transit, access is role-based with least-privilege defaults, and each company's records are kept separate from every other company's. Our model providers work under zero-retention terms, and biometric data is processed only with explicit consent or a documented employment-law basis.
How long does BerriBot keep candidate data?
By default, 30 days after the recruitment activity completes. Retention can be extended up to 120 days only on written client instruction. Backups and logs are purged within 90 days of primary deletion, and all deletions are logged and verified.
Data residency is stated in writing for every deployment, including India, in the Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
Can we review security documents before we buy?
Yes. You can request the DPA template, the SOC 2 Type II report, the ISO 27001 certificate, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and DPDP documentation, the security architecture pack, the sub-processor list and the bias audit summary through the request form in our Trust Center or by emailing support@berribot.com.
Requests are reviewed by the BerriBot team, and most documents are shared under a mutual NDA.
Does BerriBot replace recruiters and hiring managers?
No. BerriBot handles the repetitive steps while your team stays in control. You choose each campaign's stages and thresholds, can override any result, and can advance or close any candidate at any time. Live panel rounds are run by your own interviewers, and a human reviews before any adverse decision.
How does BerriBot fit with our existing tools?
Berri 360 works with the other Berri products, DocuSign for e-signatures, and email for notifications. You can also bring in job descriptions and candidate profiles by uploading files, including PDF, DOC, DOCX, HTML, Excel and CSV in Search & Match.
ATS/HRMS imports, calendar sync, job-board posting and single sign-on are not live yet. Your account team can share timelines.
How do we get started?
BerriBot sets up your company and your first admin accounts. Your admins then invite the team and use the Configuration page to set default hiring stages, onboarding steps, offer letter templates, your branding and your careers page.
A separate test (UAT) environment is available, and every release is checked there before it reaches production. The BerriBot team can also help with account and user setup and with enabling modules for your team.
What does BerriBot cost?
Pricing depends on how you want to use BerriBot. Use the Book a Demo option on our website and the team will take you through the options for your hiring needs.
What support do customers get?
Your BerriBot account team and support@berribot.com are your first points of contact, and the team can help with setup and rollout. Candidates taking a MasterMind interview also have in-session chat support, and Online Proctor includes an in-app Raise Ticket option for signed-in users.
Berri 360
Berri 360 product page →New to Berri 360? You're in the right place. Here are quick answers to the questions teams ask us most, from your first job post to a new hire's first day.
About Berri 360
So, what is Berri 360?
Think of it as your AI hiring partner. You tell Berri the role and the candidates; it moves each person from shortlist to joining day, and you step in only for the calls that matter.
Is it right for my team?
If you run high-volume or recurring hiring, yes. It's built for recruiters, TA leads and HR admins. Your interview panellists and candidates get their own pages too, opened from a secure link with no password to remember.
How does it work with the other Berri products?
Berri 360 is the hub that brings the whole Berri suite into one pipeline:
- Search & Match finds your best-fit candidates for the job.
- Berri Connect reaches out to them by voice call, WhatsApp and email.
- Berri MasterMind runs the AI first-round interview and writes the report.
- Online Proctor runs your live panel rounds with identity and integrity checks.
Every result lands back on the same candidate profile, so you never chase updates across tools.
The hiring workflow
What does a hiring journey look like?
Six stages, and you decide which ones each campaign uses:
- 1.Shortlisting: Berri ranks your candidate pool against the job description.
- 2.Outreach: Berri calls, WhatsApps and emails candidates to check they're interested.
- 3.AI interview: Berri MasterMind runs a structured, scored first round.
- 4.Virtual interview: up to five live panel rounds, recorded and integrity-checked.
- 5.Offer & checks: offer terms, the offer letter and verification documents.
- 6.Onboarding: the joining checklist, right up to day one.
How does Berri 360 save time and reduce recruiter workload?
Berri does the routine work at each stage: it ranks CVs against your job, calls, WhatsApps and emails candidates to confirm interest, runs the AI interview, books panel interviewers into each round and generates offer letters.
When a stage finishes, Berri opens the next one automatically, so your recruiters work from a live pipeline board and step in only where a decision is needed. BerriBot's published results include a 50% reduction in time-to-hire and 78% savings in recruiter and panel hours.
Can I run different flows for different groups of candidates?
Absolutely. A job description is just the requisition; each hiring campaign picks its own stages. Run the full flow for freshers and an interviews-only flow for senior hires, on the same role, at the same time. Candidates simply start at the first stage you've switched on.
How do I create a job?
Three ways: write it in the job editor, paste a job description you already have and let Berri fill in the form, or upload several jobs at once. You set weighted skills, must-haves, an experience range and a salary band.
How do I add candidates?
Upload CVs (PDF, DOC or DOCX, up to 5 MB each) or add people by hand. Candidates can also apply themselves through your branded careers page; they just confirm their email with a one-time code.
How does Berri decide who's a good match?
Berri scores every CV from 0 to 100 against your job's skills and their weightage. Anyone who clears the bar moves ahead. The bar is 70 by default, and you can change it for each campaign. Disagree with a result? Override it.
Do I have to move candidates along myself?
No, Berri does it for you. When a stage finishes, Berri opens the next one and the right product gets to work, like placing the outreach call. You'll see the pipeline board update live. Want to step in? Drag a candidate to any stage; every move is logged with who made it.
Who schedules the panel interviews?
Berri does. It books interviewers from your panel roster into each round and finds a slot that works. Your panellists can check their upcoming rounds and update their availability from a personal link, no account needed.
How do offers work?
You set the offer terms and Berri generates the letter from your company's templates.
Your candidate uploads their verification documents, then downloads, signs and returns the letter from their own page. Prefer e-signatures? DocuSign is supported too. Once the signed letter is back, the candidate moves to onboarding automatically.
What happens during onboarding?
Each new hire gets a joining checklist, with the steps and owners your team chooses. Berri Verification, an identity check, comes built in. And when a referred candidate joins, Berri emails the employee who referred them to let them know.
Candidate experience
What will my candidates see?
Their own personal page that shows exactly where they stand, at every stage. They can withdraw from it if they need to, and at the offer stage it's where they upload documents and sign. During outreach, Berri Connect keeps in touch by voice, WhatsApp and email.
Do candidates have to sign up?
Not at all. Their link is signed and personal, so there's no password to create or forget.
Each link works for 10 days. If it runs out, they can request a fresh one from the page, and it goes to the email on file.
Are interviews proctored?
For the AI interview, it's your call: switch camera and proctoring on for any campaign. Live panel rounds are recorded and integrity-checked by Online Proctor.
Control, roles and AI
Will I still be in control?
Always. You choose each campaign's stages and thresholds, and you can advance or close any candidate whenever you like. If something technical goes wrong, like an unanswered call, you can simply retry it instead of holding it against the candidate.
What is Ask Berri?
A search bar that understands plain English. Try "Java developers with 5+ years who cleared the AI interview" and Berri brings back the matching people. It only reads your data, never changes it, and shows each person only what they're allowed to see.
Can I control who sees what?
Yes. Three roles come ready to use: RecruiterAdmin, Recruiter User and Recruiter Employee. Need something different? Admins can create their own roles and set access for each area (jobs, candidates, workflow, interviews & offers, administration) to none, read, edit or full. Adding a teammate is as easy as sending an email invite.
Is there an audit trail of hiring decisions?
Yes. Every move of a candidate between stages is logged with who made it. Access is also controlled by role and by area (jobs, candidates, workflow, interviews & offers, administration), so you can decide who can view or change what.
Is my company's data kept private?
Yes. Every record belongs to your company alone, and Berri checks every request against the signed-in user's company. Files such as CVs and offer letters are stored on Google Cloud.
Support and troubleshooting
Which browser should I use?
For the best experience, use the latest Google Chrome, or another Chromium browser like Microsoft Edge. Voice dictation in Ask Berri needs Chrome. For the AI and virtual interviews, follow the browser tips from MasterMind and Online Proctor.
Can I use Berri 360 in my language?
Not just yet. The workspace and candidate pages are in English today.
Who do I contact for help?
Reach out to your BerriBot account team and they'll take it from there. An in-app ticket option isn't available yet.
What should I include when I ask for help?
The more you share, the faster we can fix it. Send your company name, the job and candidate involved, when it happened, a screenshot and the browser you used. Then walk us through the steps that led to the problem.
My candidate's link has expired. What now?
No problem. Links last 10 days, and your candidate can request a new one straight from the expired page. You can also copy a fresh link from their profile. Just note that a link stops working once the application is withdrawn or closed.
An email never arrived. What should I check?
First, ask the person to look in their spam folder, and double-check the email address on their profile. If the address is right, let support know when the email was sent.
Getting started
How do we get started?
BerriBot sets up your company and your first admin accounts. From there, your admins invite the team and head to the Configuration page to set default hiring stages, onboarding steps, offer letter templates, your branding and your careers page.
Is there a test environment?
Yes. There's a UAT (test) environment alongside production, each deployed separately.
Every release is checked in UAT before it reaches production.
Which tools does Berri 360 connect to?
Today, Berri 360 works with the Berri products above, DocuSign for e-signatures, and email for notifications. ATS/HRMS imports, calendar sync, job-board posting and single sign-on aren't live yet. Curious about timelines? Just ask your account team.
Berri Search & Match
Berri Search & Match product page →Overview for hiring teams
What is Berri Search & Match?
Berri Search & Match ranks candidate profiles against your job descriptions so recruiters can start with the best-fit candidates. You add a job description (JD) and candidate profiles, and Berri scores each candidate and groups them as Strong Fit, Neutral or Not Recommended.
How does it save recruiter time?
Instead of reading every CV, recruiters upload JDs and profiles, singly or in bulk, and get a ranked list with match scores and the skills identified from each resume. A single candidate can also be ranked against several JDs at once.
Can we control how strict the matching is?
Yes. Each JD has an adjustable matching threshold that decides who counts as a Strong Fit, Neutral or Not Recommended. You can see how many candidates fall into each category, with a bar chart on the JD Summary page.
Can we get more value from our existing candidate database?
Yes. You can upload existing profiles in bulk, rank them against new JDs, and re-rank candidates who were earlier marked Not Recommended against a different role. For example, candidates who were not a fit for a Java Developer JD can be evaluated against another relevant JD.
What can we export?
Rank Across JDs results can be downloaded as a report, filtered by date range, and Cross Ranking results can be downloaded in Excel format.

Berri Proctor: Post Interview Analysis
Berri Proctor product page →What is Berri Proctor Post Interview Analysis?
It is an offline proctoring product. You upload interview recordings after the interview is over. The platform checks each video for signs of proxy or malpractice and produces a detailed report for each one.
Who is this product built for?
Hiring teams, recruiters and operations teams that run interviews on Zoom, Teams, Meet or similar tools and want to check them for integrity afterwards. No live proctoring setup is needed.
Do we have to change how we run our interviews?
No. Interviews can stay on Zoom, Teams, Meet or whichever tool you already use. You upload the recording after the interview, so no live proctoring setup is needed.
What evidence do we get behind each result?
Each completed report has an online view with a video player, a list of flagged moments you can jump to, eye-gaze snapshots and snapshots of other faces. The downloadable PDF covers the verification checks, behavioural insights, interaction details, a timestamp annexure and the evaluation criteria. A BerriBot analyst reviews the AI analysis before the overall result is confirmed.
How do we submit a video for analysis?
Go to Proctoring → New Proctoring Check. Enter the candidate's details (first name is required; last name, email and mobile are optional). Upload a candidate photo and one or more interview recordings. You can click to browse or drag and drop. Each recording becomes its own report.
What file formats are supported?
Videos: MP4 (recommended), AVI and WebM. Photos: JPG, JPEG, PNG and JFIF. You can add an optional second photo of the candidate to improve face matching.
What proctoring checks are run on the video?
There are four core checks:
- Face match: is the person in the video the same as in the photo?
- Voice match: is there one consistent speaker on the candidate's side?
- Lip-sync: do the candidate's lip movements match the audio?
- Eye gaze: does the candidate keep looking away from the screen?
Each check comes back as Pass, Fail, Doubtful or Invalid.
What other signals does the report capture?
- Second or third voices on the candidate's side, with timestamps.
- Other or unknown faces in the frame, with snapshots.
- Whether the candidate and the panel were present.
- The candidate turning their video off.
- Network issues.
- Long silences (more than 2 minutes).
- Whether the interaction was in English.
- Communication, emotion and background noise.
- Deep-fake face and deep-fake voice indicators.
How is the final result decided?
AI analysis runs first and produces a bot conclusion. A BerriBot analyst then reviews it and confirms the overall result: Pass, Fail, Doubtful or Invalid. If the analyst's conclusion differs from the bot's, the report says so and shows both. "Doubtful" results can be moved to Pass or Fail by tuning the confidence level to your hiring policy.
What are the evaluation rules?
- Both the candidate and the interviewer must appear in the video. Otherwise it is marked Invalid.
- Looking away for up to 2 seconds counts as Pass.
- Lip-sync or voice issues caused by the network count as Pass once the voice has been checked.
Do you provide downloadable reports?
Yes. Each completed report has an online view and a downloadable PDF. The online view includes:
- A video player with a "Flagged moments" list. Clicking a moment jumps the video to it.
- Eye-gaze snapshots.
- Snapshots of other faces.
The PDF covers the verification checks, behavioural insights, interaction details, a timestamp annexure and the evaluation criteria.
How long does processing take?
Processing runs in the background, so you don't need to keep the page open. Most videos finish in under 1 hour. The dashboard's Time Taken section shows how many took under 1 hour, 2 to 6 hours and over 6 hours, split by TECH and HR interviews.
How do we track the status of uploads?
The History page lists every upload with its status: Queued, Generating report or Completed. You can:
- Filter by date range.
- Search by candidate name, email or mobile.
- Open the report once it's ready.
- Download the full list as a CSV.
What does the dashboard show?
For any date range, it shows:
- Total uploaded, completed and ongoing videos.
- Pass rate.
- Proxy signals (face, voice or lip-sync failures).
- How long videos took to process.
Each section can be downloaded as a CSV.
How are TECH and HR interviews categorised?
By the video's filename. Include "tech" or "hr" in the filename so the dashboard sorts it correctly. Anything else is counted as Others.
Who can see our data?
Access is limited to your company. Users see only their own organisation's uploads and reports. Files are stored securely on Google Cloud, separated by company and user.
Which browsers are recommended?
The latest Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Recent versions of Microsoft Edge and Safari are also supported.
Is there a light or dark mode?
Yes. The top bar has a light/dark toggle. It follows your system setting until you pick one, then remembers your choice.
How can users get support?
Contact your BerriBot account manager or support team. To speed things up, include the candidate name, upload date, filename, a screenshot of the issue and your browser version.
Can support help with onboarding?
Yes. BerriBot can help with account and user setup, enabling the module for your team, file-naming conventions for TECH/HR tracking, and adjusting how Doubtful results are handled for your hiring policy.
Berri MasterMind
Berri MasterMind product page →What is Berri MasterMind?
Berri MasterMind is BerriBot's AI interview and assessment platform. It runs structured, scored interviews, such as your first screening round, and writes a report for each candidate. In Berri 360, every result lands back on the same candidate profile. Candidates also have built-in chat support during the interview.
How does MasterMind help standardise first-round interviews?
Every candidate goes through a structured interview and is scored against the same written rubric for the role, so candidates are compared on the same criteria rather than on who happened to run the conversation.
What do recruiters get after an interview?
A scored interview report for each candidate. In Berri 360 you can also search results in plain English with Ask Berri, for example "Java developers with 5+ years who cleared the AI interview".
How do you keep AI interviews trustworthy?
Candidates complete setup checks, including camera, microphone and an audio verification stage, before the interview begins. In Berri 360 you can switch camera and proctoring on for any campaign, and BerriBot's fraud detection looks for proxy candidates and deepfakes.
How can we reduce no-shows and technical issues?
Most interview problems come down to the browser, microphone, camera, internet connection (we recommend at least 8 Mbps), screen-sharing permissions or the resume file format. Share the candidate help guides below with your interview invitations so candidates can check these in advance.
Berri Tutor
Berri Tutor product page →What is Berri Tutor and who is it for?
Berri Tutor is a learning and skills-verification platform built around a voice AI tutor. Organisations, usually employers or companies that are hiring, enrol people in an upskilling or technical-readiness programme, and Berri runs the teaching and the assessment.
What can our organisation control?
You set the course, the deadline and the pass mark (60 out of 100 where none is set), and decide how many retakes learners get. You also choose whether the programme includes coding problems and whether proctoring is switched on.
What can administrators see?
Administrators can see each learner's progress, session history, scores per module and attempt, and reports, and can export or share them as part of the programme. Learners cannot see each other, and an organisation only sees its own people.
How is the assessment kept credible?
Each module ends with a verification test scored out of 100. Spoken answers are graded against a reference answer on a rubric, and coding answers are run against real test cases. The assessment tutor gives no hints or re-teaching during a test. Where proctoring is on, what is captured is reviewed by people at your organisation.
What do we get at the end of a programme?
Learners who meet the programme thresholds can download a certificate and a competency report with their scores, strong and weak areas and attempts. They also keep the revision notes generated from each session.

Berri Tutor for learners
Berri Tutor product page →Berri Tutor is an AI tutor you talk to out loud. It works out what you already know, teaches only the gaps, and then tests you on what it taught. Your organisation has enrolled you in a programme built on it, and here is what that involves, including the parts people usually want to ask about and don't.
How the programme runs
- 1.Assessment: a spoken session where Berri finds your current level.
- 2.Your syllabus: a plan built from your gaps, not a fixed course.
- 3.Teaching: live voice lessons, module by module.
- 4.Module test: a scored test that unlocks the next module.
- 5.Certificate: a credential and a report on where you stand.
Before you start
What is Berri Tutor, and why have I been enrolled?
Berri Tutor is a learning and skills-verification platform built around a voice AI tutor called Berri. Instead of watching videos and clicking through quizzes, you hold a spoken conversation with a tutor that adapts to you, and you're assessed on free-response answers and real code rather than multiple choice.
You've been enrolled by an organisation, usually your employer or a company you're interviewing with, that is running an upskilling or technical-readiness programme. They set the course, the deadline and the pass mark; Berri runs the teaching and the assessment.
What do I need to take part?
- A laptop or desktop, since the coding editor and screen-share steps aren't built for phones.
- A recent version of Chrome or Edge. Nothing to download or install; it all runs in the browser.
- A working microphone and headphones. Headphones matter more than people expect: on speakers, the tutor can hear its own voice and interrupt itself.
- A camera, for programmes where proctoring is switched on.
- A stable internet connection and a reasonably quiet room.
Sessions that use your camera or screen will ask your browser for permission first, and some run a short device check before you begin.
Is it available in languages other than English?
Not today. Berri listens and teaches in English only. The speech recognition is tuned for English, so sessions in other languages aren't supported yet.
Accents are fine. English-only is about the language, not the way you speak it. Speak at a normal pace and you'll be understood.
How much time will this take?
It depends on your programme and on your own starting point, and that's the whole idea. After your assessment, your syllabus is laid out as a module-by-module timeline with estimated learning and testing hours, so you can see the commitment before you begin.
If someone already knows a topic well, their plan is shorter than a colleague's who doesn't. Any overall deadline is set by the organisation running your programme, not by Berri.
How the learning works
What happens in my very first session?
Your first session is a diagnostic assessment. Berri asks you a run of spoken questions across the subject area, and depending on the programme may also give you coding problems to work through. It's a conversation, not an exam paper.
There's nothing to revise beforehand, and this session isn't something you pass or fail. Its only job is to find out what you already know so the rest of your plan can skip it. Answering "I don't know" honestly produces a better plan than guessing.
Why does my plan look different from my colleague's?
Because it was generated from your assessment, not from a catalogue. Berri scores your answers into strong and weak areas, weights the modules accordingly, and builds a syllabus and hour-by-hour timeline for you specifically.
Two people on the same course will get different modules, different emphasis and different lengths. That's expected, and it isn't a mistake in your plan.
What actually happens in a teaching session?
You join a live session and Berri teaches out loud, in small pieces rather than long lectures. Along the way it:
- draws diagrams on screen as it explains them;
- asks short rapid-fire questions to check you've followed;
- opens a code editor mid-lesson, on programmes that include coding, so you write and run real code;
- re-teaches a concept a different way if a check shows it didn't land.
Afterwards, the session writes itself up into revision notes you can read or download.
Do I really have to speak out loud?
Yes, for the teaching and the spoken questions, that's the point. Saying an answer in your own words shows understanding in a way that picking option C doesn't, and it's what lets Berri tell "knows it" apart from "guessed it". Code is typed, as you'd expect.
Practically: use headphones, find a room where you can talk, and speak normally. You don't need to perform, because Berri is listening for what you say, not how smoothly you say it.
Can I tell Berri I didn't understand something?
In a teaching session, yes. Say so and it will explain again, slow down, or come at it from a different angle. You can also set preferences (more diagrams, fewer, more step-by-step), which carry across future sessions. Some programmes also include a text chat with an AI mentor for questions outside a live session.
In a test, no. The assessment tutor deliberately gives no hints, no answers and no re-teaching, and won't tell you your score while you're in it. That's what keeps the result meaningful.
Can I pause, and what if my connection drops mid-session?
Your progress is saved as you go, at the level of the step you're on. You can leave a session and pick it up later, and if your connection drops or the page freezes, rejoin from the same place in your dashboard, and you'll resume from your last completed step rather than starting over.
If a session won't restart, or comes back in a state that looks wrong, don't keep retrying it. Report it (see "What if a session won't start or recover?" below) so it can be looked at on your account.
Tests, scores & certificates
How am I assessed?
At the end of each module there's a verification test, scored out of 100. It's a fixed set of questions: spoken short-answer questions read out to you, with a countdown to answer, plus coding problems on programmes that include them. Some courses also finish with an end-of-course test.
Coding answers are run against real test cases, and are scored on more than just passing them: correctness, efficiency and how fluently you wrote the solution are graded separately.
How is a spoken answer graded?
Each question has a reference answer behind it. What you said is graded against that reference on a rubric: did you cover the substance, and was it correct. The rubric is looking at the content of your answer, not your accent, your fluency or how confident you sounded.
You can see your score per module, and your report breaks down where you were strong and where you weren't.
What's the pass mark, and what if I don't pass?
The pass mark is set by the organisation running your programme. Where they haven't set one, the bar is 60 out of 100. Passing a module's test unlocks the next module.
If you don't pass, you retake it, which is a normal part of the flow, not a failure state. How many attempts you get is configured by your organisation, so it's worth asking them rather than assuming it's unlimited.
Can I skip a question I don't know?
You can move on, and it's better than sitting in silence. But be clear on what happens: a skipped question is still put through grading like any other answer, which in practice means it earns no credit. There's no penalty beyond that, and no advantage to skipping.
If you half-know something, say the part you know. A partial answer can score; an empty one can't.
Do I get a certificate, or anything to keep?
Yes. Once you've met your programme's thresholds, a certificate becomes available to download. Alongside it you get a competency report (your scores, your strong and weak areas, and your attempts) and the revision notes generated from each of your sessions, which stay in your account.
Recording, privacy & your choices
Who can see my results?
Administrators at the organisation running your programme. They can see your progress, your session history, your scores per module and attempt, and your reports, and they can export or share those reports as part of the programme.
You are not visible to other learners, and organisations only ever see their own people.
Is my session recorded?
Teaching sessions produce a transcript, which is what your revision notes are written from.
For assessments, where your organisation has proctoring switched on, more is captured: your camera and microphone, periodic screenshots, your shared screen, a recording of the session, and events such as switching browser tabs. You'll be asked for browser permission before any of that starts, and where facial or voice biometric data would be processed you're shown a separate consent notice first and asked to agree.
What proctoring is not. Berri records evidence; it does not run automated face-tracking or eye-tracking "cheating detection" that flags you by algorithm. What's captured is reviewed by people at the organisation running your programme.
Still stuck?
What if a session won't start or recover?
Most problems people hit are device problems: a microphone the browser hasn't been given permission to use, or a headset that changed after the page loaded. If a session won't start or won't recover, these get you to a human:
- In product: use Ask Berri from your dashboard to raise a support request.
- By email: reply to the email that invited you to the programme.
- Your organisation: for deadlines, pass marks and retake limits, ask the team running your programme, since those are theirs to set, not ours.
These answers describe how Berri Tutor works today. Some details, such as whether coding is included, whether proctoring is on, the pass mark and the number of retakes, are configured per programme, so your organisation's setup is the final word on those.
Didn't find your question? Ask Berri.
Berri answers from the same FAQ and glossary as this page, and when a question needs a person, it passes it to the team with your details so nobody has to ask twice.
