BerriBot vs SeekOut: finding candidates versus interviewing them

BerriBot vs SeekOut: finding candidates versus interviewing them

Answer in brief

BerriBot vs SeekOut, sourced: where SeekOut's billion-profile search wins, where BerriBot's interview and identity checks fit, and how to choose.

SeekOut and BerriBot both describe themselves as recruiting platforms, and both now run AI screens, which is why they keep landing on the same shortlist. They start from opposite ends of the funnel, though: SeekOut was built to find people, and search is still the center of its product, while we built ours around the first-round interview and the question of whether the person answering is the person who applied. This is our page, so read it with that in mind.

Answer in brief

If the hard part of your hiring is finding people at all, SeekOut is the stronger tool. Its search covers more than a billion profiles, with specialist pools for cleared and healthcare talent, and it runs multi-touch outreach campaigns straight from those searches. If the hard part is interviewing and verifying candidates at volume, particularly for remote technical roles, BerriBot covers more of that work in one place: the interview, a coding round inside it, and identity and proxy checks that run for the whole session. The bottleneck can move from one end to the other as a team grows, so it helps to name the problem you are buying for before comparing feature lists.

Search scale is SeekOut's real advantage

We'll start with the part of this comparison we lose. SeekOut searches across more than a billion profiles and keeps specialist pools for cleared and healthcare talent, which is exactly where ordinary sourcing runs dry. A recruiter hunting for engineers with a security clearance, or for specialist clinicians, needs that kind of pool before anything else in the funnel matters, and SeekOut has organized its product around it. Our own sourcing works differently: Berri Search & Match reads each profile against the job description and ranks the shortlist with our Match Ranking Index, an approach that earns its keep once you have applicants or a pipeline to rank, although it does not search a billion-profile database and we don't claim it does.

That strength shows in the customer list. SeekOut names DocuSign, Sony, Thomson Reuters, Atlassian, Roblox, Microsoft and Pfizer on its homepage and lists integrations with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Lever, Avature, Bullhorn and SmartRecruiters, among others. The company has also had a busy year, naming Sean Thompson CEO in April 2026 and then, in June, launching both a ChatGPT integration and a self-serve Recruit Core plan.

What Sam checks, and what it leaves to you

Since SeekOut added Sam, the comparison has moved closer to our ground, so precision matters here. Sam runs an asynchronous, voice-led screening interview of about 15 to 20 minutes and returns competency scores and a transcript, which covers a real share of what a recruiter's first phone screen does and, for many roles, will be enough to decide who gets a call. Beyond Sam, SeekOut also describes AI agents that are in early access.

On integrity, the picture is thinner. Sam rates how consistent a candidate's answers are with their resume, and SeekOut itself says this does not eliminate fraud, which is a candid thing for a vendor to publish and we'd rather credit it than score points off it. Nowhere on its site did we find identity, proxy or deepfake checks, and we found no coding assessment either. For a team hiring remote engineers in markets where paid proxies operate, those are the two gaps that matter most, because a consistency score can tell you the answers match the resume while saying nothing about whether the voice on the recording belongs to the person you end up hiring.

Where SeekOut is stronger

Reach is the obvious advantage. A search across more than a billion profiles, with pools built for cleared and healthcare talent, is a capability we don't try to replicate, and if your requisitions sit open because nobody qualified has applied, the interview isn't your problem yet. Because outreach campaigns run directly off those searches, a sourcer can also go from a query to a multi-touch sequence without switching tools.

Pricing works in SeekOut's favor as well. Recruit Core costs $149 a month billed annually and comes with a 14-day free trial, so a recruiter can try SeekOut before procurement gets involved, and because we publish no pricing at all, we are the harder one to evaluate on a quiet afternoon.

Breadth of connections and track record round out the list. SeekOut names eight ATS integrations and says there are more, while our native integrations cover Workday and SuccessFactors, and as a company it is both larger and longer established than ours.

Where BerriBot fits better

Our case rests on the interview. Berri MasterMind runs that first round itself and builds it as it goes, so questions pulled from the candidate's own resume come first, role questions follow, and the session then opens a coding round in an integrated environment that supports more than 50 programming languages. Along the way it follows up on each answer and scores against a rubric in 140+ languages and accents. A short asynchronous voice screen tells you whether someone deserves a recruiter's time, whereas ours is designed to take the first technical round off your panel.

For the full length of that interview, Berri Proctor keeps checking identity. It runs 3D liveness detection, matches face and voice to the candidate's ID, tracks eye gaze and runs voice analytics while watching for lip-sync drift, a second person in the room and smart glasses, which we began detecting in January 2026. Because every flagged event carries a timestamped screenshot, a reviewer can see what happened instead of trusting a number. How these signals work, and where they fall short, is the subject of our guide to deepfake and proxy candidate detection.

Before the interview, Berri Connect places more than 10,000 calls a minute from a Truecaller Verified number, follows up by WhatsApp, SMS and email, runs CEFR language analysis on the conversation and books the slot, which matters in markets where candidates let unknown numbers ring out and reply on WhatsApp instead. With eight of the ten largest IT services companies using BerriBot, our fit is clearest in high-volume technical hiring, where screening and verification have to happen together.

The gaps on our side

We publish no pricing and have no G2 reviews yet, and because our sourcing ranks the profiles you bring to it, it does not search a billion-profile database. Next to SeekOut we are also a much newer, smaller company with a shorter list of native integrations. If your scorecard weights sourcing reach, a self-serve trial or published pricing, SeekOut wins it, and we'd expect it to.

How to choose

Go with SeekOut if your hardest roles are hard to find, cleared engineers and specialist clinicians being the obvious examples, if outreach campaigns from search are the bulk of your team's day, or if you want to start self-serve on a published plan.

Go with BerriBot if you already have more applicants than your interviewers can see, if you hire remote engineers and need a coding round inside the screen, or if proxies and deepfakes are a live problem in your funnel. Our agentic AI recruiting platform covers that loop from first call to verified interview.

The two can also sit in the same funnel, since both connect to Workday and SuccessFactors: SeekOut to find people, BerriBot to interview and verify the ones who respond. Whichever way you lean, the fastest test is a pilot on one job family of 200 to 500 interviews, judged on what came back.
